Senthamarai Stalin’s political career
Senthamarai Stalin is an Indian businessperson and politician. She is the director of the Sunshine Schools in Chennai. She is the daughter of M K Stalin, the 8th Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, and the late M Karunanidhi. She has two brothers and one sister. Senthamarai is married to Sabareesan Vedamurthy. She has been in the news since the Income Tax raid during the TN Assembly election in 2021.
In 1996, Stalin became the first directly elected Mayor of Chennai, serving as the 37th Mayor of Chennai. Later, the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Jayalalithaa’s party enacted the Tamil Nadu Municipal Laws Amendment Act, which prohibited a person from holding two elected government posts. After that, Stalin served as a DMK Deputy General Secretary for four years and was appointed Minister of Municipal Administration and Rural Development for two years. In 2009, he was elected as a State Minister and MLA for Tamil Nadu.

Sabaresan was born in Chennai to a well-off family. He received his primary education from a private school. Later, he completed his college education from Vaishnav College, Chennai. His spouse is Senthamarai Stalin, the daughter of DMK leader M. K. Stalin.
